Adıyaman State Hospital was initiated in 1954 on a land donated by the late philanthropist businessman Hacı Mehmet İNAN and opened in 1963 with a capacity of 50 beds. In subsequent years, its physical structure was expanded, increasing the bed capacity to 315.
Maternity and Pediatric Hospital opened in 1998 and served as Adıyaman Maternity and Pediatric Hospital until 2012.
82nd Year State Hospital began providing services in 1962 as a Health Station affiliated with Malatya SSK Hospital, was transformed into a 26-bed Dispensary in 1974, and continued as an inpatient hospital from 2001. Following the 2005 decision to transfer SSK Hospitals to the Ministry of Health, it served as the 100-bed Adıyaman 82nd Year State Hospital until 2012.
From March 2012, Adıyaman State Hospital, 82nd Year State Hospital, and Maternity and Pediatric Hospital were merged to continue services under the name Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital. By affiliating with Adıyaman University Faculty of Medicine, from August 2012 it served as T.R. Ministry of Health Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospital, enhancing both service capacity and quality.
T.R. Ministry of Health Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital moved to its modern campus building on 25.06.2015, providing services with a total of 663 beds across three campuses. As of 01.02.2019, bed capacity increased to 710, and on 26.10.2020 to 740. With the opening of the B Block (Maternity and Pediatric) and C Block (Oncology) buildings, completed within the central campus on 06.02.2025, the hospital reached a closed area of 156,536 m² within a 110,665 m² land area, providing a total of 1,005 beds, including 169 intensive care beds, and continues to serve.
