Burn Unit

Our Burn Unit has 16 beds and is located on the Ground Floor of B Block, Women’s and Children’s Health Services Building.

What Is a Burn Unit

It is a burn unit operating within a healthcare facility, where minimum sterilization conditions are established, isolated from other units, and where the care and treatment of burn patients who require inpatient care but do not need specialized treatment are provided.






Burn Unit Services

  • Moderate burns (when risk factors are not increased)

  • Burned body surface without multiple trauma or inhalation injury, not requiring intensive care:
    Adults: Our Plastic Surgery Specialist Physicians provide care for second-degree burns up to 25% and third-degree burns up to 10%.
    Children: Our Pediatric Surgery Specialist Physicians provide care for second-degree burns up to 20% and third-degree burns up to 10%.

Visitor restrictions are applied in our unit.

Personnel Providing Services:
In our service, the following staff are assigned:

  • 2 Pediatric Surgery Professors

  • 2 Pediatric Surgery Specialist Physicians

  • 2 Plastic Surgery Specialist Physicians

  • 5 Pediatric Surgery Assistant Physicians

  • 14 Nurses / Health Officers

  • 4 Cleaning Staff

  • 1 Secretary / Patient Guidance

Emergency Burn Patient Treatment:
For burn patients presenting to the emergency department, treatment continues under the guidance of the relevant Specialist Physician after initial intervention and consultation request by the emergency physician.

Outpatient Burn Patient Treatment:

  • Pediatric patients are treated in the Dressing Room within the Pediatric Surgery Outpatient Clinic.

  • Adult patients are treated in the Dressing Room within the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinic.
