Adıyaman Maternity and Children’s Hospital Granted the Title of “Mother-Friendly Hospital”
Adıyaman Maternity and Children’s Hospital has successfully completed the comprehensive evaluations and inspections conducted within the scope of the “Mother-Friendly Hospital” Program carried out by the Ministry of Health and has been granted the title of “Mother-Friendly Hospital”.
During the preparation process lasting approximately one year, all standards determined by the Ministry of Health were fully fulfilled at the hospital in order to ensure that expectant mothers receive safe, high-quality and comfortable healthcare services. Within this scope, while the physical infrastructure was strengthened, maternity services were restructured, training programs were organized for healthcare personnel, and practices supporting a mother-centered service approach were implemented.
The evaluation team appointed by the General Directorate of Public Hospitals of the Ministry of Health and chaired by İlkay Zengin examined in detail the hospital’s antenatal, delivery and postpartum care processes, protection of maternal privacy, patient safety practices, physical adequacy of delivery areas, and service models supporting normal delivery.
As a result of the evaluations conducted, it was certified that the hospital successfully implements high-quality standards in mother and baby-centered healthcare services, and the title of “Mother-Friendly Hospital” was granted.
Chief Physician of Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Tepe, stated that the achievement was the result of a great teamwork effort and said:
“The title of Mother-Friendly Hospital is not merely a document received; it is one of the most important indicators of the quality of services we provide to our mothers. For approximately one year, we have worked with great dedication together with all our team members and fully fulfilled all the criteria determined by our Ministry. Today, we are experiencing the happiness of receiving the reward for this effort.”
Expressing that enabling expectant mothers to experience the childbirth process in a safe, comfortable and human-centered manner is among their priorities, Tepe continued:
“Our goal is to provide healthcare services where expectant mothers feel safe, their privacy is protected, normal delivery is supported, and the mother-baby bond is strengthened. The title of Mother-Friendly Hospital is extremely valuable in terms of the registration of this approach by our Ministry of Health.”
Chief Physician Mehmet Tepe thanked all physicians, midwives, nurses and healthcare professionals who contributed to this achievement and emphasized that they will continue to work with the same determination to further advance the quality of healthcare services in Adıyaman.
Following the evaluation process, Uzm. Dr. Pınar Koçatakan, Head of the Health Services Department of the General Directorate of Public Hospitals of the Ministry of Health, participated in the program organized after the evaluation process via online connection. Koçatakan congratulated the hospital administration and all healthcare professionals, especially Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Tepe, and wished that the title of “Mother-Friendly Hospital” would bring good fortune to Adıyaman.
The Mother-Friendly Hospital Program carried out by the Ministry of Health aims to ensure that expectant mothers receive safe, respectful and privacy-based healthcare services during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum periods, reduce unnecessary medical interventions, support normal delivery, and increase maternal satisfaction.
With Adıyaman Maternity and Children’s Hospital receiving this title, the quality of maternal and infant healthcare services throughout the province has been further strengthened, and another significant quality standard has been implemented in the healthcare services provided to citizens.
