Pediatric surgery is a subspecialty of general surgery involving the surgery of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Pediatric Surgery deals with all surgical procedures related to infants from infancy to adolescence (0-14).

Our Pediatric Surgery Clinic provides healthcare services with 1 professor, 2 assistant professors, 1 specialist doctors and 1 research assistant. Pediatric surgery service has its own ward with 20 beds capacity. Approximately, 3.200 operations are performed each year.

Pediatric surgery service is on the 4rd floor of the main building.

Services offered:

  • Surgery for abnormalities of the groin in childhood and adolescence which include undescended testes, hernias, hydroceles and varicoceles.
  • Surgical repair of birth defects.
  • All other surgical procedures for children including: chest deformities, acute appendicitis, umbilical hernia, inguinal hernia, anal fissure, anorectal diseases such as imperforate anus (anal atresia), testicular torsion, epispadias, circumscission, esophageal atresia and tracheoesophageal fistula (abnormal pathways in the body), gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD), Hirschsprung’s disease.
