Our Ophtalmology Clinic provides healthcare services with 4 assistant professors, 8 specialist doctors and 3 medical residents. Our clinic gives service for diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the eye and surrounding tissues, which can develop in every stage of life from newborns to geriatric patient groups. We have a ward with 25 beds capacity with a dedicated day care facility for tests, investigation and treatment. Annually, approximately 3.600 eye operations are performed. In January 2018, we established a fully equipped cornea bank and since then more than 80 successful corneal transplantation procedures have peen performed by our experienced and certified Ophtalmology specialist doctors.

Refractive Diseases
Corneal contact lens: Topographers for precise measurement of cornea, corneal thickness measurement devices, specular microscopy and keratometers for measuring cornea’s refractive power and corneal radius are available in the unitThe unit is involved in selecting and testing appropriate contact lens as well as informing patients with correct usage and having them practice
Cataract is the condition of loss of the transparency of transparent lens in the eye due to various reasons most of the time age welded. The only treatment for cataract is surgery in which the native lens is replaced by an artificial intraocular lens. Monofocal, trifocal, multifocal lenses and (for fixing astigmatism) toric featured intraocular lenses are used according to the need of patient.
Glaucoma: For monitoring intraocular pressure, tonometers are used for measurements in each of the seven examination rooms. Equipments with with latest technology such as visual field analyzers and optic coherence tomography are used in need. Management is accompanied by the latest guidelines.
Oculoplasty: Blepharoplasties, grafting methods, recreation of lower and upper eyelids are among the services offered.
Retina, Uvea, Behçet: Retinal diseases (retinal detachment, vascular diseases, conditions associated with diabetes) are treated with medical, surgical and noninvasive methods like cyrotherapy and diode laser. Intraocular inflammation (uveitis) is diagnosed, treated and followed. The relevant units of our hospital work in collaboration for uveitis and Behcet’s disease.
Strabismus and amblyopia treatment.
Screening for Retinopathy of Prematures (ROP) and early treatment and follow-up is done with care.
